Here's an excerpt from the full article:
"George W Bush gave one of the worst speeches of his life yesterday," says the New York Times in an editorial.
"He advised the public that anybody who wanted to help should send cash, grinned, and promised that everything would work out in the end.
"And nothing about the president's demeanour yesterday - which seemed casual to the point of carelessness - suggested that he understood the depth of the current crisis."

Personally, it never ceases to amaze me how indecisive this President appears to be. At least, I hope that it's indecision...maybe it insensitivity...which would be far worse. There are thousands of people dead, more than a million homeless, no food, no water, no medical supplies, no clothing and people dying as we speak from lack of these things. How does he sleep at night...hell, I'm having a problem sleeping with all of this going on. Vacation? The worst natural disaster in American history and he can't cut his vacation short? August is not a good time for this country as long as this man is in power...let's see...9/11 info in a brief when he's on vacation in August...we see how that was handled. Category 5 hurricane hits the U.S....in August...and we see his response. Lord help us for the next 3 years, especially during August!
this man(Bush) is truly evil. you can see it in his eyes when he speaks with the press. he has no compassion, no gravity and no realization that Americans are dying on his watch. goddamnit, the buck has to stop somewhere. take some responsibililty Mr. President. I do believe it is insensitivity along with plain ignorance and callousness.
I think the word IN is in. INdecisive, INsensitive, INcompetent... First, good grief, the man is simply a horrible public speaker and whether this could be 'forgiven' if we perceived him to have any brains or compassion..I dont know. But, knowing how and what he is, his speaking presentation gives himself all away- Folks - THE EMPORER HAS NO CLOTHES. He has no compassion, he has no....insert just about anything here! Second, and I hate to even offer up this analogy because God help us (literally) if this is the explanation. Let's turn our thoughts around here. Actually, this is par for the course for GWB - to be incompetent, insensitive and late to the step-up. This is a guy who cant properly outfit our soldiers (aside from the whole other topic of their inappropriate presence in Iraq that requires the need to be properly outfitted...) Trucks without proper armour...cities without proper armour... yep, that would be GWB and his gang. So the bigger, scarier picture is that we have more and more examples of what is 'normal' for GWB and his gang, and that is truly scary to me. I do want to comment here that I believe the local (municipal & state) levels of government have some culpability in this situation and to leave everyone with a dangling participle, I wont elaborate here - not for lack of facts and details, but I want to stick to the topic; maybe another discussion?! Anyway, this has revealed a lot of many folks true stripes and I'm sad, dissapointed, embarrassed, ashamed.... Im not scared -the guy is scary, yes, but Im not scared, dont let him do that to us! Mostly I'm the other adjectives. Well, that's it for now. Vampyre, alas it's both....insensitivity leads to and breeds indecision I think.
Ly.
