The state of my mind

I must say that I'm feeling rather discouraged these days. The Republicans control the White House, the Senate and the Supreme Court. The Democrats just can't seem to get organized enough to gather momentum and move forward. These are rather scary times. For years I have spoken of telephone calls being listened to, email being monitored and those around me try to make me feel as though I was paranoid or overreacting. I guess that was not the case. Wake up people! Can't you see that with each passing day, more and more of your civil liberties are being eroded away? I know many of you must have heard this before, but it is so true:

"Those that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. " - Benjamin Franklin

Please, please, please get more active in politics! Vote! If the same fervor was given to voting and protecting our civil liberties that is given to the bloody Super Bowl, we as citizens would be a force to be contended with! Sheesh...I'm sick of hearing about Super Bowl when we have an unjust war going on and our rights are being trampled on.

LOL...I guess someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, huh? But ask yourself this....am I right? Think about it!
